THE MISSION

By fusing Norma’s bold art with cutting-edge technical textiles— we design and craft ski suits that deliver on warmth, freedom of movement and timeless style, all produced locally in women-led U.S. ateliers with slow-fashion principles.

From a kitchen table in Tahoe to slopes worldwide, Racysuits has always been about more than outerwear. It’s a family legacy of fearless design, small-batch craftsmanship, and a passion for performance. Every stitch connects us back to those first bold suits and the athletes who wore them with pride.

THE MISSION
1938

Where it all began

At seventeen, Norma took her first turns on Mt. Hood, paying just fifty cents a chairlift ride. Her love for skiing—and for pushing what a suit could do—was born that winter.

1949

A perfect pairing

Norma met Bob Bernard, Racysuits’ grandfather, a fellow skier with the same competitive spark. Together, they shaped a tradition of function meets boldness on the slopes.

The early suits

Bold from the start

Norma’s first race suits were white with a red stripe, made from one-way stretch fabric. Her next iteration—a four-way stretch explosion of color sourced in Reno—turned heads and redefined what a suit could be.

1970

The race begins

Bob entered his first ski race, setting the tone for decades of grit, style, and speed.

1977

National stage

He competed in his first U.S. Alpine Masters Championships, wearing the suits Norma had started to hand-craft at home.

1994

World champion spirit

Bob won the World Cup long race series in his age class—proof that dedication (and great tailoring) never go out of style.

2008

The final run

At 84, Bob skied his last race, closing one chapter of family legacy and inspiring the next generation to carry it forward.

2016

Racysuits is re-born

In Brooklyn, New York, Marina officially launched Racysuits —merging family craftsmanship with modern performance design. Our debut collection hit the slopes, setting a new standard for performance and style.

2019

Racysuits goes global

From Aspen to Austria Ski Week, Racysuits traveled around the world building its community of bold, confident skiers and snowboarders.

2023

A new chapter in Breckenridge

The brand moved to the mountains and welcomed Emily and Celia as co-owners, grounding Racysuits in both heritage and forward motion.

2024

Back in production

Our first post-pandemic production run rolled out, crafted with our new factory partners and elevated materials.

TODAY

The next evolution

This fall we launched our new website and brand look, honoring our roots while reimagining what a suit can be—function, style and comfort combined. Suit up, stand out.
