1. NOR’BEASTER Festival
Where: Killington, VermontWhen: April 15-16th, 22nd, 29th, May 1st
What: Just a few hours from NYC is “The Beast of the East”. Beginning April 15th, skimming contestants glide into Spring Ski for a chance to win prizes based on length of skim, costume, crowd cheer, and biggest splash (for those who didn’t make it across the pond). During the month of April you can enjoy discounted ski passes, cold brews, delicious food, and live music until May 1st. Festivities continue at Wobbly Barn Steakhouse where East Coasters apres-ski like no other. And in true college fashion, head over to Outback Pizza for a $5 all you can eat pizza to end your night.
2. Spring Back to Vail
Where: Vail, ColoradoWhen: April 14 - 16th
What: The weekend kicks off with a mid-day tikis and luau. For those who don't want to feast on pig roast there will be a Bud Light Bags Tournament held at the same time. On closing day, April 16th, a highly anticipated World Pond Skimming Championships takes place at Golden Peak featuring free outdoor concerts, giveaways, and everyone’s favourite - after-dark parties.
3. Snowmass Spring Fling
Where: Aspen Highlands, ColoradoWhen: April 9th
What: Closing day at Snowmass isn’t taken lightly when their website states “We’ll be closing Buttermilk, Snowmass, Aspen Highlands and Aspen Mountain with lots of bacon, Champagne and revelry. It's the only way we know how.”- you’re guaranteed to have a good time. Spring Fling gives you a chance to rock your finest vintage gear, dance for hours, and participate at the biggest apres-ski party 10,000 ft high at Cloud Nine, or ski down to a live DJ at the base of the mountain. Snowmass officially closes on April 10th with the most ridiculous way possible, a Schneetag competition.
4. Sunsation Festival
Where: Copper Mountain, ColoradoWhen: April 16th
What: Copper Mountain is closing out the winter season with the annual spring festival, Sunsation, featuring Red Bull SlopeSoaker’s as well as the Eenie Weenie Bikini Contest. Prepare for 48 hours of partying, music, prizes, crazy outfits, and impressive slopestyle skiing or horrendous falls. For those who want to take a break and channel your inner child, you’ll be happy to know that Copper Mountain holds the world’s largest Easter egg hunt.
5. Sugarloaf Reggae Festival
Where: Carrabasset Valley, MaineWhen: April 6th - 9th
What: Maine knows how to get over the end of ski season depression, by focusing on strictly good vibes only.
6. Sam Adams 3D Air & Apres
Where: Big Sky Resort, MontanaWhen: April 1st
What: If you love a good competition then watch a couple of daredevils effortlessly catch air on large scale jumps while sipping on a nice cold Sam Adams beer. Athletes will be be lit up by an incredible 3D graphic show projected on the jumps. As if that isn’t enough there will also be live music and fireworks as one last hurrah before closing day April 16th when their Pond Skim event will take place.
7. Minus Zero
Where: Stratton, VermontWhen: April 7 - 8th
What: New to the game, but clearly a success the first year, Minus Zero is back for its second year of combining electronic music and winter sports. For those of you who didn't go to Ultra Miami, Stratton mountain provides the next best thing. There is nothing better than being able to wear your favourite outfit without feeling disgustingly sweaty. Come dance the night away at an unforgettable weekend.
8. Spring Loaded at Heavenly
Where: Tahoe, CA/ NVWhen: March 25th - April 9th
What: Heavenly presents two weeks of insanely fun events. Located on the border of California and Nevada it is only fitting that its day parties and nightlife has a Vegas-like quality with 5 casinos, GoGo dancers, and a number of different clubs. On your way down the mountain catch Tahoe’s DJ’s cruising around the mountain blasting beats for everyone to enjoy. Or stay at the top of the Gondola for an apres-ski party with half-priced drinks, food specials, live DJ, and lots of dancing. As if Spring Loaded could be any better, every day is a costume themed day, so get your costumes ready and catch up on some sleep, because at Heavenly they are the first to get on the slopes in the morning and the last to leave the bars at night.
9. Spring Gruv
Where: Park City Resort, UtahWhen: March 25th - April 16th
What: Utah’s Spring Gruv is a never-ending party that stretches from end of March until the resorts closing day on April 16th. Music will be surrounding the mountains all day at the Spring Concert Series at Canyon’s Village as well as the Main Street on Park City town where you will find all the party goers. In true Spring Ski style, Spring Gruv closes off the winter season with an epic Annual Pond Skimming Contest.
10. Ski Week Aspen
Where: Aspen
When: April 2nd - 9th
What: Ski Week is a week filled with international people, fun activities, and champagne poppin’. Whether you prefer a nice morning yoga session, dancing to a live DJ, warming up in a hot tub, or apres-ski partying on the mountain top, every day is jam-packed, guaranteed to provide all-time thrills.
